❖ We use demonstrative pronouns before a verb to point to specific people, things and animals that are near us or further away.
- This: for a singular noun that is near us.
Example:
This is my friend Lance.
- That: for a singular noun that is further away.
Example:
That looks like a poisonous snake.
- These: for a plural noun that is near us.
Example:
These are the tickets.
- Those: for a plural noun that is further away.
Example:
Those look delicious.
